They keep tabs on you, and notice everything you're doing. In one mission, they even comment "Don't worry about finding me - You stand out, I'll know when you arrive." In short, you, as an outsider, really stand out to the Remnant. So there's a fairly large discrepancy between "gain the trust of someone so you can give their stuff to someone they don't trust" and "buy something that is freely available to anyone on the open market".Īnd just on the topic: The Remnant give every impression of being very security conscious, even down to the point of doing a blood check on you before letting you explore their world. So most of those items are freely available for purchase to anyone and the few that aren't are *syndicate* unlocks, and aren't required. No gaining trust required, no licenses, and for many of them not even a mission unlock. ![]() So it's fair." To that, I'll just point out that most of the items that you can bring to satisfy the "tech retrieval" missions are openly available anywhere. People have pointed out "I'm just doing what the Remnant have asked me to do - bringing them various high tech items. ![]() Not to mention, taking the engines off a disabled ship and leaving it floating in space isn't exactly a "friendly" action. If it makes you feel better, don't blow up their ship after taking their engine." And planting surveillance devices.Yeah. Or just disable some of their ships and take them. If there was any doubt about it, Ivan & co will even tell you something to the effect of "You should gain their trust so you can take their stuff. When they start letting you buy stuff, they are trusting you with access to their technology as thanks for helping them out. The Remnant are pretty clear about how they are hiding out there to avoid detection by the Alphas and maintaining tight security. On the other hand, I'm currently writing "consequence" missions from the Remnant point of view, so those will be PR'd and hopefully in-game in the next few months. Secondly, while there's a possibility that there will be more Deep missions in the future based on revealing the Remnant and getting their stuff to the Deep there's nothing planned for the near future. First off, there's no benefit to doing those missions other than some cash.
